For iPhone

Run into your friends.

Your best friend is getting coffee two streets over, and you'd never know. runinto gives you a nudge when a friend is close, so "we should hang sometime" turns into "wait, you're here too?"

How it works

No plans.
Just good timing.

  1. They're closer than you think

When a friend is within a mile, they pop up on your map. Further away, they're not on it at all. Just the people you could actually bump into.

  2. Get the nudge

"Maya is nearby ๐Ÿ‘€" One little heads-up, then it's your move. Wave back, send a text, or just turn up.

  3. Make it a hang

A coffee, a bench, the long way home. When you actually meet, save it, and watch your collection of happy accidents grow.

Our promise

Nearby, never tracked.

Seeing friends nearby only feels good if it can never turn into being watched. So these aren't settings you have to dig for. They're how runinto works, they're in the app word for word, and our servers enforce them.Full privacy policy

  1. Nobody can see you unless they are your friend and within 1 mile of you right now.
  2. It's mutual: if someone can see you, you can see them. "Who can see me" and "who I can see" are the same list.
  3. Ghost mode hides you from everyone. While you're a ghost, you can't see anyone either.
  4. Hide from someone and neither of you sees the other. They aren't told.
  5. Block someone and they can never see you, find you by number, or add you again, even if you blocked their number before they joined.
  6. Where your friends are outside the 1-mile circle is never sent to your phone, in any form.
  7. We don't keep a location history. Your live location expires on its own. The only places kept are meetups you and your friend both chose to save, stored as a place name, never coordinates.
  8. When you text a friend I'm here, the link shows that one spot, never your live location, to whoever has it for 1 hour. Then it's gone. Going ghost ends every link right away.

Good questions

Is this a tracking app?

No. Friends only see you while you're within a mile of each other, and only if you can see them too. Further apart, your location isn't sent to them at all. There's no history, no trail, no "last seen across town".

Won't it be weird to see where my friends are?

It's not a map of everyone. It's a heads-up that someone you like is close right now. What you do with that is up to you: wave, text, or walk over.

Who can add me?

Friends who have your number join automatically, and you go through that list before anything is shared. Anyone else has to ask, and you decide.

What if I'm not in the mood?

Go ghost for an hour, a night or as long as you like. Nobody sees you, and you don't see anyone, until you're back. You can also hide from one person quietly. They're never told.

Is it on Android?

Not yet. runinto is iPhone first.

Your friends are out there.
Probably closer than you think.
